The Acoem Belt Hog uses the pulley groove as the reference, allowing you to achieve a precise belt alignment which reduces wear, bearing failures, and vibrations. Using a simple laser and target system, it quickly identifies misalignment and helps correct angular, parallel, and sheave issues with minimal effort.
The system consists of two laser heads that measure each other's relative position by simultaneously projecting and receiving laser beams. Each head mounts with rare-earth magnets and interchangeable spring-loaded V-Guide tips directly in the center of the sheave groove, exactly where the belts run, for a more accurate alignment than shoulder-mounted tools.
Guided steps walk through vertical angular (twist), horizontal offset, and horizontal angular misalignment in order. Compact and easy to operate, the Belt Hog improves belt life, reduces vibration and belt noise, and minimizes unscheduled stops.
