AccuTrace Cable Route Tracer
SKU: 656621
AccuTrace transmitter/receiver pair for tracing buried pipes and cables. Transmitter applies a low-frequency signal to the cable; receiver tracks the signal above ground to follow the route and estimate burial depth. For de-energized cables and pipes; pairs with the 656626 ring clamp for inductive coupling on cables that cannot be opened for direct connection.

The Megger 656621 AccuTrace cable route tracer is a cable tracer for locating, tracing, and measuring the depth of energized electrical cables. The tracer includes a transmitter and separate receiver. The transmitter sends an energized signal down a line either by magnetic induction, which does not require direct contact with the cable, or through a direct conductive connection. Signal strength and proximity to the cable are indicated visually on the receiver or audibly. The audible indicator has adjustable volume that can be set loud enough to hear without headphones. The tracer has a range of 1.5m to 5km (5 ft. to 3 mi.) and can locate cables buried up to 9m (30 ft.) deep. The unit can use both peak- and null-tracing modes on the same trace for increased speed and accuracy. The receiver handle telescopes closed for easy storage. The 656621 is commonly used by electricians and utility workers.
Determine line depth quickly by using the swivel mounted antenna. By adding the ring clamp (optional) can provide much stronger inductive signals to trace areas that have heavy cables. Water pipe blockages can be located by using water tight capsule transmitter (optional). A tape on transmitter allows for collapsed duct work locating.
