SIL 2 / SIL 3 capable per IEC 61508. 2-in-1 redundancy option for two independent radar electronics per gauge. 10 GHz FMCW radar via 2-wire FOUNDATION Fieldbus Tankbus. Four antenna variants for different tank conditions: parabolic (1P, premium for fixed-roof without still-pipe, tolerant to product buildup and condensation), horn (1H, smaller fixed-roof nozzles down to 200 mm), still-pipe array (1A, for floating-roof crude/gasoline/product tanks with rust/deposit tolerance via Low Loss mode), and LPG/LNG (G1/G2/G4, for pressurized or cryogenic liquefied gas with integrated ball valve and optional built-in pressure sensor for vapor compensation). 3408 Non-Contacting Radar Level Transmitter (80 GHz)
High-frequency 80 GHz FMCW non-contacting radar level transmitter — narrow beam angle (typically 4°) eliminates interference from tank internals (agitators, ladders, heating coils) that confuses lower-frequency radars. Same antenna / process-connection / material variety as the 5408 but with the 80 GHz beam-shape advantage for challenging tank geometries. Both liquid and solids applications, including granular materials and aggregates where lower-frequency 26 GHz struggles.
